Breccia Capraia

In stock

Breccia Capraia is an iconic and highly expressive Italian marble from the Tuscany region, specifically the Apuan Alps near Carrara. It is widely celebrated in luxury design for its dramatic, “painterly” aesthetic that balances classic Italian elegance with bold modern artistry. Features a brilliant crystalline white to warm ivory base. Defined by intense, irregular veining in a striking polychrome palette, including deep purple, burgundy, dark grey, and emerald green. As a “brecciated” stone, it contains fragmented mineral clusters that create a high-impact, mosaic-like appearance. Because of this dynamic movement, it is a premier choice for bookmatched installations.
  • Source: Quarried in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, often associated with the same historic basins as Calacatta and Statuario.
  • Durability: A high-density marble with strong compressive strength (approx. 110–112 MPa), making it resilient for daily use in active areas.
  • Finishes: Most frequently specified in polished (to enhance colour depth) or honed (for a softer, matte feel) finishes.
  • kitchen waterfall islands, grand fireplace surrounds, and statement feature walls.
  • Bathrooms: Frequently used for bookmatched shower wall cladding, bespoke vanity tops, and integrated stone sinks.
  • Luxury Interiors: A favourite for high-end residential flooring and high-impact commercial lobbies where “quiet luxury” meets bold personality.
  • Sealing: Due to its natural porosity (approx. 0.15% water absorption), regular professional sealing (every 12–24 months) is required to prevent staining.
  • Cleaning: Should only be cleaned with pH-neutral products; acidic cleaners will etch the surface.
  • Protection: In kitchen settings, the use of coasters and cutting boards is essential to protect the stone from acidic substances like citrus and vinegar.
