Heritage Limestone

In stock

Our Heritage Limestone, or also known as Dijon Limestone and Buscot Limestone (and formerly known as Neranjo), is one of the most popular natural stones in the UK due to its remarkable durability and neutral aesthetic. Primarily sourced from Egypt or France, it is prized for its “champagne” palette of beige, almond, and light grey tones, frequently accented by subtle fossil and mineral markings.
Key Characteristics
  • Aesthetics: Features a versatile blend of warm beige to soft grey hues with occasional crystallised calcite veining.
  • Durability: A naturally dense stone that is frost-resistant, making it exceptionally hard-wearing for high-traffic areas.
  • Versatility: Suitable for both internal flooring (typically 10–15mm thick) and external paving (20–30mm thick), allowing for a seamless transition from home to garden.
Available Finishes
  • Tumbled: The most popular choice; edges are gently distressed to create a soft, aged, and rustic appearance.
  • Seasoned/Etched: Often referred specifically as the Buscot Etched finish, this involves a light bleaching or acid-wash process to create a textured, uniform, and slightly weathered look with enhanced grip.
  • Honed: Provides a smooth, matte surface with straight-cut edges for a more contemporary, clean-lined feel.
  • Brushed: Features a subtle texture and slight sheen, achieved by wearing away softer minerals with steel brushes.
Typical Formats
  • Free Length (FL): Fixed width (e.g., 600mm) with varying lengths (500mm to 1000mm) for an authentic, traditional layout.
  • Opus Pattern: A modular set of different sizes that creates a classic, randomised flagstone effect.
  • Standard Sizes: Commonly available in 900x600mm and 600x400mm slabs.
Installation & Maintenance
  • Sealing: Must be sealed upon installation to protect against moisture and stains; resealing is recommended every 4–6 years.
  • Cleaning: Use only pH-neutral cleaners; never use acidic products as they can permanently damage the limestone’s structure and colour.
  • Underfloor Heating: Fully compatible with underfloor heating systems due to its excellent thermal conductivity
