Santa Fiore Sandstone

In stock

Santa Fiora sandstone (also known as Pietre Santafiora or Tuscan Beige Stone) is a prestigious Italian natural stone prized for its warm aesthetic and exceptional structural integrity.
Key Characteristics
  • Origin: Exclusively quarried in the Tuscan Maremma region of Italy (specifically the Manciano basin in Grosseto).
  • Colour Palette: Features a sophisticated range of earthy tones, including warm beige, cream, hazelnut, and golden-brown. Some varieties exhibit unique brown-violet or “cloud” effects with subtle parallel veining.
  • Composition: A dense clastic sedimentary rock compacted by calcite, which provides higher hardness and lower porosity than many other sandstones.
  • Durability: Renowned for being frost-resistant and highly resistant to atmospheric agents like smog, acid rain, and salt. It maintains its non-slip properties even as it wears.
