Fiore De Pesco

In stock

Fiore di Pesco (meaning “Peach Blossom”) is a prestigious Italian marble celebrated for its sophisticated blend of grey tones and delicate, warm veining. Primarily quarried in the Carnic Alps of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, it is often referred to by its full name, Fiore di Pesco Carnico.
Visual Characteristics
  • Colour Palette: The stone features a versatile background ranging from soft white-grey to deep ash-grey.
  • Veining & Details: It is famous for its intricate, spider-web-like veining in shades of ivory, pink, and peach. Some varieties also exhibit light green or brown mottling and occasional dark grey “EMBER” streaks.
  • Structure: Technically a compact breccia, the surface displays irregular clasts (fragments) that create a textured, “living” appearance.
Technical Properties
  • Durability: Unlike many softer marbles, Fiore di Pesco is noted for its extraordinary compactness and high compressive strength (~98.0–113.8 MPa), making it remarkably hard-wearing for a natural stone.
  • Resistance: It is frost-resistant, which allows for use in both internal and external architectural projects.
  • Finish Versatility: It supports a wide range of finishes including polished (to enhance colour depth), honed (for a matte look), and brushed or leathered (for a tactile, organic feel).
Common Applications
  • Interior Design: Highly requested for luxury bathroom vanities, kitchen countertops (when sealed), and elegant flooring.
  • Statement Features: Its bold, contrasting veins make it ideal for bookmatched slabs, creating dramatic focal points on feature walls or fireplaces.
  • Architectural Stonework: Due to its density, it is used for stairs, window sills, columns, and even outdoor cladding.
Maintenance
As with all natural marble, Fiore di Pesco is susceptible to acidic substances. It requires professional sealing (typically every 1–2 years) to protect against staining and moisture ingress. For daily care, use a pH-neutral cleaner and immediately wipe up spills
