Developers, designers and clients are embracing the many ways in which marble can be crafted to deliver spectacular results. One such project (see previous picture) in London features hand-selected Honey Onyx which was personally sourced by MD Gary Walters from one of our Italian suppliers. The client wanted to create a warm space to contrast with the black pewter fixtures and the linear markings in the onyx bestows an enthereal ambiance.
The installation presented a variety of challenges - it was like assembling a giant jigsaw with each piece needing to be precision placed. Curved edge details, inlaid precious metals and integral draws all came together to deliver a beautiful bathroom.
Arabascatto marble (above) was used for a more traditional take on a bathroom in this Yorkshire property. The book-matched wall cladding behind the bath and basin has a polished finish to reflect light. The bespoke vanity basin surround incorprates soap dish cut-outs and the decorative faceted splash back adds individuality. All the marble has been sealed to protect it and for ease of maintenance.
